BOSTON – After dominating the conference this decade, Rhode Island has been installed as the favorite to win its fourth-straight Continental Lacrosse Conference (CLC) Division II crown, according to the preseason coaches poll.
The Rams (15-2), which were upset in the quarterfinals of the 2023 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance by eventual champ Dayton, gobbled up six of the seven first-place votes.
Maine (6-3) advanced to the CLC title tilt last spring before bowing to Rhode Island and checks in at No. 2. The Black Bears snagged the remaining first place vote.
Bridgewater State (4-9) is slotted third, just three points behind Maine. Stonehill (6-3) rounds out the top four of the seven-team league.
