The SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) has announced its 2022 Preseason All-SELC Watchlist for Division I.

A selection committee comprised of head coaches and assistant coaches representing both regions within the conference examined coaches’ nominations, game tape, past production and accolades to date for dozens of SELC Div. I players.

From amongst these, the committee identified 26 players of note who, based on the data currently available, will be in the discussion for All-SELC honors at season’s end.

“Due to the limited scope of lacrosse that’s been played since March 2020 at any collegiate level, this watchlist was particularly challenging for the committee to put together,” said Garrett Hanrahan, SELC Division I Director. “Nonetheless, we enjoyed the process, and we believe we’ve identified 26 elite players within one of the MCLA’s strongest conferences.

“When vetting upperclassmen, we looked for players with verifiable in-game production at the collegiate level. There are guys on this list who have put up points or impacted the game in other ways on some very big stages including the MCLA National Championships."

“For the handful of underclassmen on the list, we watched their game film from high school or from the abbreviated 2021 collegiate season,” Hanrahan continued. “In some cases, we investigated their production at the NCAA programs from which they transferred. These guys all jump off the tape, and each has quickly established himself as an impact player at his respective program in a very short time."

"We look forward to watching these 26 young men play this season and, moreover, we look forward to seeing what new names emerge from within our talented conference over the next few weeks,” Hanrahan said.

A mid-season update to the All-SELC Watchlist will be published sometime in late March after the halfway point of the regular season.
