INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - With a convincing 15-2 decision over the University of the Pacific this afternoon, Sierra Nevada moves to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the WCLL.

The Eagle offense was paced by Nic Zvirzin's five goals. Other significant contributors were Jacob Dubyak and Jake Caliguire, with each scoring a hat trick.

"While our defense continues to be the backbone of our team, it was great to see such unselfish play on offense today. Anytime you have more than half of your goals assisted good things are going to happen," said Eagles coach Matt Blamey. "We are working hard to make sure that we don't have to rely on one or two guys to put the ball in the back of the net."

While the offense is making strides each week, in the first two games of the season the Eagle defense has given up a total of only five goals. The backline continues to be anchored by Sergio Rovira, Hunter Wheeler, Cale Tuttle and Matt Hennis. Long-stick middie Jack Witt continues to be a dominating force between the lines, grabbing twenty ground balls in the first two games. Goalie Austin Farina accounted for six saves on the day for a .750 save percentage.

Next up the Eagles travel to Las Vegas for a pair of ranked opponents during the LAX Coaches vs. Cancer event on March 5-6. On Saturday, SNC will faceoff against No. 13 Cal State Fullerton at noon. Sunday, the Eagles will take on No. 2 Concordia-Irvine at 10:30 a.m.
