ATLANTA- Cal State San Marcos junior attackman Ryan Simmons racked up 20 points for the Cougars this past weekend as they got two decisive victories. Against Western Washington, Simmons scored six goals and added five assists. On Sunday against UC Davis Simmons chipped in with six goals and three assists. In recognition of Simmons’ efforts he has been named the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week.
Cougars head coach Tim Puls said, “Ryan is one of our Captains and leaders, and he does an incredible job in his role. "He is the quarterback of our attack". He is a threat anywhere on the field as he can shoot, score or dish out assists which makes him hard to guard. He has excellent vison and sees the field and his teammates very well. He works extremely hard on and off the field and it shows when he steps on the field. He has really stepped up for us this year and he plays a huge role in our offense, and I couldn't be prouder of what he has done for our team.”
In honor of being named Warrior Player of the Week Simmons will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O head – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
