Stanford Seeking Head Coach

The Stanford Cardinal are in search for a new head coach to take over the program on the Farm.  Please reach out to Director Winston Adams (650) 460-4922 if interested. The position is part-time, averaging 20hrs a week from (September - May) pay rate is $60 an hour.  The job responsibilities are as follows:

Your responsibilities include:

·         Coaches must possess knowledge of lacrosse with coaching experience preferred.

·         Serve as a paid contingent coach of men's club lacrosse responsible for teaching and            training only current fee-paying Stanford University students

·         Monitor and promote the academic and personal growth of club athletes

·         Ensure safety of all team members and coaches is the top priority at all times

·         Operate program in a manner consistent with the Club Sports Office and clubs                        National Governing Body

·         Track practice participation and active roster size

·         Coaches must abide by all applicable policies and regulations outlined in the annual               coaches meeting

·         Provide tactical and technical skills training, practice structure, game strategy, on-f                  field game management. The students coordinate and run the team administratively.              Students, not coaches, will act as the liaison between the club and the Club sports                  office for scheduling practice and competition times/spaces, coordinating travel                    arrangements, developing and managing program’s budget and purchasing                              equipment/apparel

·         Coaches should designate playing time fairly based on skill level while trying to get all club members competitive playing time

·         A coach is highly recommended to be at all team practices, as well as all home and                away competitions

·         Coaches must maintain good sportsmanship among team members, officials,                        opposing team members and coaches

·         Become an Authorized Driver with the Office of Risk Management

·         Paid Contingent coaches must submit an accurate timesheet reporting time worked              every two weeks. Hours worked should be scheduled out by the Assistant Director,                  Club Sports and meet the expectations of coach responsibilities

·         All Club Sports Coaches, are on an annual contract

·         Stanford Recreation and Wellness has the right to remove any club sport coach if, in              the opinion of the staff, the coach in not performing their responsibilities in the best              interest of the club

·         Perks include Stanford ID card and free access to the Stanford Recreation centers                  that include fitness centers, pool and climbing wall.
