BOSTON -- The top three teams in the Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League preseason coaches poll are separated by one point, with UConn emerging as the narrowest of favorites for the 2018 campaign.
The Huskies (8-4) earned the second seed in the PCLL tournament last spring, but were bounced by Northeastern in the semifinals.
The Huskies -- the Northeastern version -- finished 9-4 and earned the automatic qualifying bid to the 2017 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour. They are tied for second with New Hampshire (4-7) just behind UConn.
UConn, Northeastern and New Hampshire all received two first place votes.
Boston College rounded out the top four.
