ATLANTA – After leading UC Santa Barbara to a big win and a narrow loss over the weekend, Gaucho graduate netminder Josh Glasman is the MCLA Division I PEARL Goalie of the Week for the period ending Feb. 23.

Things started slowly for UCSB as Colorado handed the Gauchos a 12-11 setback on Friday, but through no fault of hometown kid, who made 17 saves for a 58.6 save percentage.

With UC Santa Barbara trying to salvage a weekend split against Colorado State on Sunday, Glasman again delivered another 17 stops (65.4 save percentage) as the Gauchos picked up the victory, 11-9.

For the weekend, Glasman stopped 34 of the 56 shots (60.7%) that came his way.

“Josh really bailed us out at times in both of our games this weekend,” said UC Santa Barbara coach Mike Allan. “We started especially slow against Colorado, and he made some key stops to help us settle in and keep the game within reach. While he made some highlight worthy saves, it was his consistency and leadership over the weekend that really stood out.

“Josh has waited his turn and battled injuries, so it is awesome to see him lead us the way he has so far this season.”

As the recipient of the PEARL Goalie of the Week honor, Glasman will receive a PEARL swag bag of goodies that will include PEARL lacrosse balls – the official ball of the MCLA.
