ATLANTA – After leading the Seahawks to an impressive victory, UNC-Wilmington sophomore midfielder Justin Doran earned Division II Warrior Player of the Week accolades for the period ending Feb. 9.

Hosting Virginia Tech D-II, Doran posted five goals and dished out a trifecta of dimes to lead Wilmington to the 11-8 victory to improve the Seahawks to 2-1 on the campaign. He factored in on 73 percent of the teams outcome on the day.

“Justin is one of those players and leaders that isn’t really a vocal guy in a team huddle, but rather shows it with his performance on the field. Everyone on the team, and other teams, see how much of a game changer he can be, especially in close games and key situations.

“He instills a level of grit I expect and holds all my players accountable. We try to run our program at the standard of an NCAA team, even though we are a club and fairly new to the MCLA. I look forward to seeing the progress and growth he develops as the season unfolds along with the upcoming years he is a part of UNCW lacrosse.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Doran will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
