LOS GATOS, Calif. – The Western Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) moves to Los Gatos High School just south of San Jose for the 2023 conference tournament, which will be held on April 29-30.

Each WCLL division winner will receive an automatic berth to the 2023 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be held at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 8-13.

BRACKETS: DIVISION I | DIVISION II

The format of this year’s tournament alternates between the two divisions during the course of Saturday’s semifinals.

The day kicks off in Division II with a contest between third-seeded Chico State (5-4) and second seed Saint Mary’s (5-4) at 9 a.m. The two teams met on March 11 with the Gaels taking the 11-7 decision thanks to five goals and a dime from Jashae Williams.

The 11:30 a.m. semifinal features a pair of D-I teams as North second seed Sonoma State (7-6) clashes with South top seed Cal Poly (7-5). The two teams did not meet during the regular season.

It’s back to D-II at 2 p.m. with top-seeded UC Davis (6-5) matching up with No. 4 seed San Jose State (4-6). The Aggies traveled to the Spartans on April 8, winning 18-3 thanks to five goals from Mark Wood.

The day finishes off with South second seed UC Santa Barbara (7-5) tangling with North top seed California (7-6) at 4:30 p.m. The two teams met back on Feb. 4 in Isla Vista with the Gauchos prevailing 10-5 thanks to four goals and three assists from Lucas Menendez.

“We are looking forward to an incredible weekend of high-level lacrosse,” said WCLL director Michael Gillespie. “To all of the coaches, players and fans, I wish you the best of luck and hope that this tournament provides you with an unforgettable experience. Let's celebrate the game of lacrosse and the incredible athletes who make it great.”

Admission is $10 for adults and $5.00 for children. Kids with their NCJLA jersey and children under four get in free.

All six games will be streamed by Kevin J. Allison Sports on Youtube and Vimeo.
