SAN FRANCISCO – The semifinals are set for the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) tournament in both Division I and Division II, which will take place at Los Gatos (Calif.) High School from April 26-27.
The winners in each division will earn an automatic qualifying bid to the 2025 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will take place from May 5-10 at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex. The brackets for the championship will be released on Sunday night, April 27.
After a pair of first round games at home sites, the Division I semifinals are finalized. Top-seeded Cal Poly will square off with Santa Clara after the Broncos upset California, 14-13. On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 UC Santa Barbara clashes with third seed Sonoma State.
The championship game is Sunday at 3 p.m. (Full schedule below)
UC Davis rolled to an undefeated conference slate, placing them as the top seed in Division II. The Aggies will battle Chico State in the second semifinal preceded by the opening semi featuring UC Santa Cruz and San Jose State.
The Division II title game is at noon on Sunday.
“This is always a great time of year for lacrosse and we are once again at a great venue in Los Gatos,” said WCLL director Michael Gillespie. “Earning a bid to nationals is the ultimate prize, so the competition is going to be fierce.”
Tickets for the games are $10 for adults and $5 for children. All of the semifinals and both finals will be streamed live.
