2022 Summary

Michael Burgos has taken on the role of Assistant Coach for the 2015-2016 lacrosse season. Burgos will be working with the Men's and Women's teams as the goalie coach. Burgos started his coaching career at John Carroll University (OH), his alma mater, after his last year of playing. He was in charge of the goalies, while helping with the defense. Most recently, and just a year later, he was the varsity assistant coach at Lake Brantley High School (FL), where he was the defensive coordinator and the goalie coach. During the 2013-2014 season, Burgos had the opportunity of coaching JCU, helping guide them to the first ever Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, in only their first year of NCAA play. Placing runner-up in the tournament, JCU finished the season at 13-4. His freshman starting goalie earned 2nd Team All-Conference accolades. During the 2014-2015 campaign, Burgos was with Lade Brantley HS. The team went undefeated during district play, ultimately winning the district championship title. The team advanced to the first of the state playoff tournament, where it finished its season at 10-6. Prior to the start of his coaching career, Burgos played at Belmont Abbey College (NC). With the Crusaders, Burgos was a part of the Conference Carolinas conference championship team, defeating heavily favored Limestone College. From BAC, Burgos transferred to John Carroll. MCLA at the time, Burgos started every game both seasons, and helped guide the Blue Streaks make their postseason debut in 2013. Burgos ended his career at JCU with a .666% save percentage, holding a 6.77 GAA, and making 310 saves. He was also the team MVP both seasons. A native of Orlando, FL, Burgos attended Boone High School, where he lettered in two varsity sports: Lacrosse and Hockey. While playing lacrosse at BHS, Burgos was a three year starter for the Braves, earning four varsity letters, team captain for two years (Jr & Sr), 2nd Team All-District as a sophomore, and 1st Team All-Metro as a senior.
