Coach Backes is in his second year at Colorado State University. He is the owner and founder of Ironworks Performance in Denver, Colorado. Before opening Ironworks Performance, Christian was the North Area Director for Elite Speed Sports Performance in Broomfield, Colorado. In his time working for Elite Speed Sports Performance, he worked with multiple NCAA Division I, II, & III level athletes, as well as, up-and-coming high school athletes who went on to compete at the collegiate level. Christian has also spent time working with top high school lacrosse programs in the state and some of the top lacrosse clubs in Northern Denver and Northern Colorado. He attended Northern Colorado where he played football, as well as, lacrosse. In addition, he also spent time playing football at the University of Wyoming where he played with Josh Allen from the Buffalo Bills. Christian graduated from UNC with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, as well as, Nutrition. Additionally, he has been certified by the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist program.
