Hunter grew up in Edmond, OK, graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. While at OU, Hunter was a 4-year letterman. After OU, Hunter moved to Austin where he was the coaching director for Cedar Ridge youth lacrosse and head coach of the 7/8 grade team. After moving back to Oklahoma became assistant coach for the Huskies before becoming the head coach. Hunter was also the head coach for the Oklahoma Men's Lacrosse program from 2020-2022.
