Schifano graduated from William & Mary as a four-year varsity letterman and was a captain during his senior year. As a senior, he became the first W&M player to be selected to the North-South Senior All-Star team. When he graduated, Joe was the all-time leading scorer for W&M and is still the leading midfield scorer. During his time in graduate school at W&M, he assisted Clarke Franke in coaching the W&M Varsity Men's Lacrosse team. He also served as offensive coordinator from 2022-2023. Schifano received an BBA in Accounting and later an MBA in Finance from W&M. He is wrapping up a 25-year career with National Public Radio (NPR).
