Coach Joe Whitmore is joining the program as a recent graduate from Colorado State University. Born and raised in Centennial, Colorado, Coach Whitmore started playing lacrosse in elementary school. In highschool, Whitmore played four years of varsity lacrosse, serving as a two-year captain, two-time All-Centennial League, 2017 second team All-State and led the state in saves his senior year with 220. After high school Coach Whitmore was recruited to play Division 3 lacrosse at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. While a Freshman at Nazareth, Whitmore saw action in 8 games recording a .536 save percentage. He recorded his first win against Hamilton in a 14-12 contest. After his Freshman year, Whitmore decided to transfer back home and attend Colorado State University. As a sophomore at CSU, Whitmore saw action in 8 games recording a .564 save percentage with a career high 21 saves against rival Brigham Young University, and earned All-Conference honors. As a Junior, Whitmore’s season was cut short due to COVID-19 after a 3-0 start to the season and being named MCLA goalie of the week regarding the Ram’s season opener win over Northeastern. As a Senior, the Ram’s were not allowed to compete in MCLA league play due to COVID-19. After obtaining a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Supply Chain Management, Whitmore accepted a position as a management trainee for Consolidated Electrical Distributors. Post graduation, Coach Whitmore continued his passion for the game by coaching club lacrosse with Team 91 and the Rocky Mountain Rattlers. As a coach, Coach Whitmore is determined on fine tuning individuals skills in a way that benefits the greater good of the team. He believes that success is won by those who believe in winning and then prepare for that moment. Coach Whitmore is thrilled to be the goalie coach in his first season with the program.
