Justin Shipp graduated from Mattawan High School in 2009 and entered service in the U.S. Army Reserves as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. Which he served in for nine years rising to the rank of sergeant with roles as the vehicle recovery team leader, and senior mechanic for a pls transportation unit. During this time he went to school starting at Kalamazoo Valley Community College before transferring to Western Michigan University earning a bachelors degree in exercise science. In addition to serving in the army and getting his degree, Justin became involved in the local lacrosse community. He started as an assistant coach with Mattawan's seventh and eighth-grade team. The following year he took over the entire youth program and founded the local youth conference. Currently, the youth conference is home to six programs between Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. Presently, Justin works as the Michigan Director for True Lacrosse. In his capacities, he helps facilitate training and travel programs in all areas True operates out of in Michigan.
