MISSOULA, Mont. -- The University of Montana men's lacrosse team has raced out to a 3-0 start to the season and will to make five straight when the Grizzlies travel to Moscow, Idaho, for a clash with rival University of Idaho.
The Grizzlies and Vandals will meet for the 11th time since 2008 and the two teams have split the previous 10 meetings with five wins apiece.
The game is slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Sprintturf Field.
Montana, which is ranked No. 12 in MCLA Division II, will be tested by Division I Idaho, which has posted a 1-2 record after getting swept by No. 19 Simon Fraser and Washington last weekend.
The Griz are averaging a conference-best 3.5 goals against average. They will look to continue to rely on their aggressive defense as their offense continues to find its footing.
It's been that defense that has led Montana to its current 3-0 start.
They've beat Western Washington (11-4), Puget Sound (10-4) and Utah State (10-4) to date.Division II Scholar Athlete's Announced
