Chapman Slim Favorite in SLC-I
LOS ANGELES – By a one-point margin, Chapman has been installed as the favorite in the Southwest Lacrosse Conference (SLC) Division I poll, according to the preseason coaches poll.
The Panthers, which made the finals of the MCLA Invitational Tournament last spring, posted 60 points, bolstered by five first-place votes in the poll.
Just a point back was Chapman’s local rival, Concordia-Irvine. The Eagles grabbed the remaining three first-place votes.
Arizona checked in at No. 3 followed close by Grand Canyon in the fourth spot.
USC, Arizona State, San Diego State and UCLA round out the poll.
The SLC will have an automatic qualifier to the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be held at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 9-14.
