CUI’s Schneider Named Player of Week
ATLANTA – Anchoring a strong defensive effort than enabled Concordia-Irvine to pull an upset over the weekend, Eagles defenseman Braden Schneider has been named the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 20.
Concordia-Irvine headed to No. 6 Cal Poly on Saturday and the Corona, Calif., native was up to the task. He finished with six caused turnovers and four ground balls as the Eagles held the Mustangs to just six goals in an 11-6 victory.
“Braden has brought a toughness to our defense that everyone has adopted,” said Concordia-Irvine coach Jesse Foss. “In the Cal Poly game, he was able to impose his will and set the tone for the entire defense.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Schneider will receive either a Warrior Burn XP-D – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.

The Cornhuskers held off in-state rival Creighton, 15-12, thanks to five goals and three assists from the California kid.
Christian DeAngelis, FOGO – Texas
In games against Boston College and UC Santa Barbara, DeAngelis won a combined 38 of 49 facoffs – a staggering 77.6 percent.
Ethan Deller, Midfield – California
The senior buried five goals and assisted on a sixth helping No. 5 Cal knock off No. 3 Chapman on the road.
Riley Flores, Attack – Colorado State
The sophomore from New Jersey factored into seven of the Rams 11 goals in the win over Georgia with four goals and three dimes.
Ryan Kerr, Attack – South Florida
The Bulls rolled past Miami thanks to a sawbuck from the Palm Beach Gardens product. He finished with eight goals and two helpers.
Carson Lombardi, Attack – Santa Clara
The Broncos punished Sonoma State, 19-8, with the Bellevue, Wash., native tallying seven goals and three assists for the 10-spot.
Antoine Moats, Attack – USC
In wins over No. 17 Arizona and Stanford, the rookie racked up five goals and five assists in a pair of Trojan wins.
Caleb Monzon, Midfield – LSU
In victories over Alabama and Oklahoma, the junior amassed six goals and tacked on five assists along with three ground balls.
Nolan Testa, Midfield – Florida
In the Gators 11-7 victory over No. 10 New Hampshire, the senior struck for a pair of goals along with a dime.
