CP’s Mikolajewski Named Player of Week

ATLANTA – After posting monster numbers in a perfect week for Cal Poly, junior attackman Luke Mikolajewski is the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending April 10.
The week started with a WCLL contest against Stanford and the Del Mar, Calif., product was outstanding. He finished with four goals and two assists as the Mustangs rolled the Cardinal, 17-8.
On the road against No. 12 Santa Clara on Saturday, Mikolajewski was even better. He finished with four goals and five assists as Cal Poly stunned the Broncos, 14-9.
For the week, he had eight goals, seven assists and 10 ground balls, helping the Mustangs qualify for the WCLL tournament.
“Luke's grit, quickness, vision and shooting ability make us a much more dynamic offense, but his demand for excellence and accountability has been crucial to our team's gradual improvement,” said Cal Poly coach Bobby Dabrieo.
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Mikolajewski will receive a Warrior Burn XP-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Ryan Dickson, Attack – Dominican
The Penguins punched their ticket to the playoffs with a win over Sonoma State, aided by five goals and two assists from the Clayton, Calif., product.
Will Halligan, Attack – Florida
The Gators wrapped up the SELC title with a rivalry win against FSU, bolstered by four goals and a dime from the Maitland, Fla., native.
Matt Hartig, FOGO – Grand Canyon
In the Lopes big win over Arizona State, the Phoenix kid won 15-of-19 faceoffs while gobbling up nine ground balls.
Ryan Kerr, Attack – South Florida
In a narrow loss to Central Florida, the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., native buried seven goals along with two helpers.
Liam Nelson, Midfield – Chapman
In wins against San Diego State and UCLA, the San Clemente, Calif., product amassed 11 goals and two dimes.
Alex Morris, Attack – Miami (Ohio)
In a weekend sweep of Indiana and Purdue, Morris struck for two goals – including the OT game-winner against Purdue – and five assists.
Bradley Peterson, Attack – Northeastern
The Huskies suffered a close loss to Georgia Tech, but the Sherborn product was on his game with a hatty and four dimes.
Aaron Piszczek, Midfield – Georgia Tech
The Wreck swept UNH and Northeastern in Beantown, thanks to a combined 31-of-47 faceoff wins along with 18 ground balls.
Braden Schneider, Defense – Concordia-Irvine
The Eagles limited Arizona to just six goals, anchored by Corona, Calif., products three caused turnovers and six ground balls.
