Kennesaw the Pick in SELC-II
ATLANTA – After capturing the league title last spring, Kennesaw State has been named the favorite in Division II of the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC), according to the preseason coaches poll.
The Owls (10-1), who were the No. 3 seed at nationals in 2022, took home four of the seven first-place votes to stay comfortably clear of the rest of the conference.
Sitting in the second chair is Florida Gulf Coast (10-4). The Eagles grabbed a first-place vote after losing by a goal to eventual semifinals Montana in the first round of the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance.
Florida Atlantic (9-5) actually picked up the second most first-place votes (2), but sit in third after FGCU.
Miami (5-3) is tabbed fourth in the seven-team conference.
At the subdivision level, Kennesaw was the obvious pick out of the SELC North while Florida Atlantic edged out Florida Gulf Coast as the favorite to be the top seed in the South.
