FAU Lands Top Spot in SELC - II Preseason Poll
Boca Raton, FL (December 6, 2024) – The votes are in from the D-II SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference that Florida Atlantic University takes the ’25 number one spot in the Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Owls ended the 2024 season 15 - 3 and won the SELC D-II Championship title for their first time ever. “We are extremely excited for the opportunity to defend our SELC title. After graduating a large senior class, we will have our work cut out for us but having this level of expectation on our group means that we have a lot to live up to. We are ready to show the league what we are capable of,” said FAU’s Head Coach Stavros Neocleous. “Preseason polls are a reflection of a past season and although our 2023/24 season was a strong campaign, we feel like we have a group that can build on that and reach new heights in 2025.”
The second spot in the SELC was awarded to Kennesaw State who finished up the season 12 - 4. Miami (5 - 7) took #3 spot and Florida Gulf Coast (4-8) and Tampa (4-5) tied for the fourth place.
