NC State Wolfpack
2024 Recap: NC State had a strong 2024 season and has since made adjustments to enhance their competitiveness. Changes in the coaching staff have brought a new offensive approach, while defensive strategies have been tightened. A greater emphasis has been placed on aligning players with roles that best suit their strengths to maximize efficiency.
Key Losses: The Wolfpack lost David Baird (Midfield) and Seth Doyle (Goalie), two impactful players. However, the roster already had players prepared to step into those roles, and incoming freshmen bring long-term depth to the program.
Notable Returners: The defense remains largely intact, with the exception of Doyle in goal. Alex Duggleby is set to take over as the starting goalie. Transfers Matthew Hunter, Dylan Kesselring, and Timmy McCaffrey add further depth to an already strong defensive unit. Offensively, most starters return, ensuring stability.
Incoming Players: Freshmen Gus Maggio and Connor Hodgson, along with transfer Roman Oduntoyinbo, showed promise in fall scrimmages, contributing to an impressive 50-goal performance.
Schedule Highlights: NC State faces a challenging schedule, with every opponent presenting a tough test. Their ability to execute against strong competition will be key.
Outlook: With a combination of experienced returners, strong transfers, and an adjusted system, NC State is poised for a highly competitive season. Their defensive depth and offensive firepower will make them a formidable contender in the ALC.
North Carolina Tar Heels
2024 Recap: UNC enters the MCLA for the first time in 2025, bringing new challenges and opportunities. The team is focused on competing at a high level while maintaining its tradition of excellence.
Key Losses: UNC lost Ethan Mou (Attack) and Cade Chabra (Defense). Their production will be replaced through a committee approach, emphasizing team-wide contributions.
Notable Returners: Most of the roster remains intact. Grant Garey (Defense) and Will Clark (FOGO) are expected to elevate their play in 2025.
Incoming Players: Ayden Turner (Attack, W&L transfer) and Jack McCoy (Attack, Junior) are expected to make an immediate impact on offense.
Schedule Highlights: Key non-conference matchups include Auburn and Texas A&M, as well as home games against New Hampshire and Boston College.
Outlook: With a talented returning core and key additions, UNC has the potential to be a strong competitor in the MCLA. Their success will hinge on their ability to adapt to the new league and consistently execute.
Tennessee Volunteers
2024 Recap: Tennessee spent the offseason analyzing strengths and weaknesses to refine their approach for 2025. The team remains committed to reaching the next level and competing for a championship.
Key Losses: The Volunteers graduated Jack Lyden (Defense), Mike Ricciardi (Midfield), and Zach Janus (Goalie). Lyden has joined the coaching staff, and Kyler Gornick is set to take over in net.
Notable Returners: Co-head coach Mitch Langley has developed a deep offensive rotation, giving the team multiple options for success.
Incoming Players: Freshman Kyle Conklin (Goalie, Long Island) has been a standout addition.
Schedule Highlights: Tennessee opens against Florida (Feb. 7) and will play Liberty in their ESPN+ Midnight Madness game on April 4.
Outlook: With a deep and talented roster, Tennessee is well-positioned to be a major contender in the ALC. Their ability to replace key departures will be crucial to their success.
Clemson Tigers
2024 Recap: Clemson has prioritized accountability and leadership in 2025, shifting more responsibility to veteran players for system development.
Key Losses: The Tigers lost faceoff specialists Rico Martinez and Maxwell Williams and defender Cooper Chamblee. Jack Tormey is expected to take over at faceoff X.

Incoming Players: Luke Ramono (Defense), Jack Wunder, Tyler Supercynski, and Trevor Buffone (Offense) are expected to contribute.
Schedule Highlights: Early matchups against Auburn and Georgia will be crucial tests. The season finale against South Carolina remains a must-watch rivalry game.

Virginia Tech Hokies
2024 Recap: The Hokies are focused on maintaining a strong team culture while adjusting to the graduation of key players.
Key Losses: Virginia Tech graduated 12 seniors, including Aidan Smith and Jared Cole.
Notable Returners: Most freshmen typically move to Division II, but Emmett Kelly and Preston Herrington could play major roles this season.
Schedule Highlights: A demanding schedule includes matchups against Liberty, Texas, Georgia Tech, FSU, Florida, Chapman, and San Diego State.
Outlook: Virginia Tech faces a rebuilding year but remains a tough competitor. Their ability to develop younger players will determine their success.
High Point Panthers
2024 Recap: High Point is entering its first year in the ALC and is eager to prove itself at this level.
Key Losses: No major losses reported.
Notable Returners: Senior Graham Wesel (Team President) will be a key leader.
Incoming Players: Jack Amato (Attack) and Preston Hoey (Midfield) will be central offensive contributors.
