ATLANTA- Georgia senior attackman Rory Cavanaugh has been on a heater and continued it over the weekend earning Warrior Player of the Week honors. Cavanaugh scored six goals on Friday to lead the Dawgs past San Diego State. He followed that up with four goals and two assists on Saturday against USC leading Georgia to a 2-0 weekend. The Marietta, Georgia native became Georgia’s all time leading scorer earlier this season.
Georgia Head Coach Zac Knapp said of Cavanaugh, “I think by now, every team that plays UGA is circling #0 on their scout, and with good reason. He continues to impress me on and off the field. He has become a leader of this team and offense, and just has a way of firing up the entire team when he’s playing. Rory is one of the hardest working guys I know and his dedication to this sport, this team specifically and UGA lacrosse as a program show in everything he does.”
For his exploits earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Cavanaugh will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O head – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
