KSU, PBA Dominate SELC-II Accolades

ATLANTA – Both Kennesaw State and Palm Beach Atlantic took home a pair of season-ending awards in Division II of the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference while combining to account for 10 of the 13 spots on the all-conference first team.

Kennesaw State players Trey Koons and Connor Hanson were chosen as the co-Defensive Players of the Year while Owls’ head man Tyler Yelken was tabbed Coach of the Year. PBA’s Greg Swanson took home Offensive Player of the Year honors while Scotty Brown was the Specialty Player of the Year for the Sailfish. Both teams had five players on the first team All-SELC squad.

The Citadel, Georgia Southern and Florida Gulf Coast were also represented on the first team.

Reinhardt, the champions of the league, had two players on the second team and three on the honorable mention outfit. The Eagles defeated Kennesaw State, 13-7, in the SELC title game to earn a berth in the 2016 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour. The seeding and matchup for nationals will be announced on the evening of Sunday, May 1.
