ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association is mourning the death of Guy Yankovich, who was instrumental in the video production of the National Championships during its run in Orange County over the past two years.
Yankovich, 48, passed away suddenly in his home on Dec. 30, leaving behind his wife, Jennifer, and his two children – Luke (6 years) and Hope (6 months).
“We consider ourselves to be a big family in the MCLA, and Guy was definitely a part of it,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “We are deeply saddened by his passing and are keeping his family in our daily thoughts.”
Yankovich worked dutifully on-site and in the LaxTV truck to bring live coverage of the tournament to fans across the country. He was tremendously committed to putting out the best product available and his presence will be sorely missed this season and beyond.
Yankovich, a resident of Verboort, Ore., will be celebrated in a gathering sometime in January after a small, private ceremony for the immediate family.
A gofundme page has been set up to benefit Yankovich’s wife and children.
