AUSTIN, Texas- The Texas Longhorns, winners of the last three Lone Star Alliance (LSA) championships were picked atop the preseason coaches poll for 2026. New Head Coach Louie DeDonatis will lead the Longhorns as they look to extend their reign over the league. Southern Methodist was picked second after a runner-up finish in 2025. Texas Christian was picked third. Texas A&M rounds out the top four in the poll. Oklahoma in fifth place is the highest ranked team outside of Texas. The Baylor Bears took the sixth spot in the poll. The LSU Tigers snagged the seventh spot. The Missouri Tigers and Kansas Jayhawks continued their border war with the Tigers in eighth place and the Jayhawks in ninth. The Ole Miss Rebels closed out the poll in tenth place. Full poll results are below.
