Northeastern Selects Boland as Coach

BOSTON, Mass, – Northeastern University lacrosse is proud to announce Chris Boland as its new head coach for the 2015-2016 season.

Coach Boland is a Baltimore native and a Johns Hopkins alum. He played attack for the Blue Jays from 2007 – 2011 and was a two-time captain and an All-American. He was a member of the national championship team in 2007, led the team to the NCAA playoffs as a starter, and was the team’s leading scorer. He later played professionally for the Boston Cannons.

Most recently, he spent two successful seasons coaching at University of Southern California before returning to the East Coast. Boland has also had experience coaching elite players with 3dLacrosse and will continue to work with 3d at the Boston location. The Huskies believe that Coach Boland’s strong sense of focus and determination to succeed will generate success in seasons to come.

“We are thrilled to have Coach Boland lead the Northeastern lacrosse program,” said club president Christian Nichols. “His skill sets and coaching knowledge will immediately make a significant impact on our team and help us achieve our long term goals. We are very excited for the upcoming season.”
