SAN DIEGO – After a nearly two-year hiatus, the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) Division II is back and Northern Arizona is the favorite, according to the preseason coaches poll.

The Lumberjacks accumulated 106 points to lead the way, bolstered by a trio of first-place votes. Six points behind NAU is Loyola Marymount. The Lions amassed four first-place votes.

UC San Diego sits in the third chair, aided by a pair of first-place votes, staying just ahead of Cal State San Marcos, which rounds out the top four in the 11-team league.

Point Loma Nazarene, looking to make a splash in its first season in the conference, grabbed the final first-place vote.

The winner of the SLC tournament earns an automatic qualifying berth to the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be held at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 9-14.
