INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - The Sierra Nevada men's lacrosse team wrapped its fall ball season this past weekend with a stellar defensive performance at the UC Davis CALI Invitational Tournament.

In a low-scoring game to start to the day, the Eagles held Nevada to one goal in an abbreviated tournament format contest. When the final whistle blew, SNC and the Wolfpack were tied, 1-1.

In its second game, Sierra Nevada faced the always-talented Cal Poly squad. The Eagle offense came to life, netting six goals against the Mustangs. Again, defense and goalie play was stifling, holding Cal Poly to just a pair of goals in the 6-2 victory.

In the final contest of the tournament, the Eagles defeated Western Oregon. 5-2.

"While we strive to fire on all cylinders, there are going to be days when the offense carries the defense and the defense carries the offense. Today was one of those days," said Eagle head coach Matt Blamey. "We made a lot of progress this fall in defining what it means to play Eagle lacrosse. We have an amazing group of guys who are very hungry for success. We'll take a week off and then get back at it for winter workouts. I am excited to see how things shake out this spring."

Sierra Nevada will take the field this spring for its first regular season game on Sunday, Feb. 28 at the University of the Pacific.
