ATLANTA – After backstopping Texas to its second consecutive LSA title, Longhorns sophomore netminder Cian Levine is the MCLA Division I PEARL Goalie of the Week for the period ending April 27.

It takes three wins in three days to run the LSA gauntlet and the Darien, Conn., product was ready from the jump. On Friday, second-seeded Texas battled Missouri and thanks to 11 saves from Levine, the ‘Horns advanced with a 13-6 victory.

On Saturday, Baylor – the top seed out of the North division – was on the docket and Levine was solid, making eight stops in a 15-5 victory. He closed out the weekend with 14 saves as Texas knocked off Southern Methodist, 14-10, for the trophy.

For the weekend, Levine made 32 saves and posted a 60.4 save percentage.

“Cian Levine has firmly established himself as one of the top young goaltenders in the MCLA,” said Texas coach Kyle Hartzell. “His standout performance and dominance over the weekend have not only anchored our defense, but also elevated our entire team.

“Cian is proving week after week that he is the best goalie in our conference.”

As the recipient of the PEARL Goalie of the Week honor, Levine will receive a PEARL swag bag of goodies that will include PEARL lacrosse balls – the official ball of the MCLA.
