Von Kamecke Hired at UCF

ORLANDO -- The University of Central Florida is pleased to announce that Mike Von Kamecke will be its new head coach starting with the 2018 season.

Von Kamecke comes to the Knights after prep head coaching stints at Trinity Prep (Winter Harbor, Fla.) and Seminole (Fla.) High School. He was also an assistant coach at the University of Tampa, an NCAA Division II program.

During his collegiate career, Von Kamecke was an All-American midfielder at Salisbury (Md.) University, winning a pair of NCAA Division III championships. He scored 108 goals and dished out 73 assists during his career with the Sea Gulls.

At the conclusion of his collegiate career, he played on the professional LXM Pro Tour.

Playing in the Southeast Division of the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference in 2017, Central Florida finished with a 6-4 overall record and narrowly missed qualifying for the SELC tournament.
