ATLANTA- Texas A&M junior Ryan Wyrick has been making his presence known during his first season in College Station. The Austin, TX native has already put up 75 points on the season. Wyrick has not been shy averaging 15 shots per game, but despite the volume Wyrick is shooting a very efficient 43% on the season. When the Aggies hosted #11 Texas Christian over the weekend the trend continued. Wyrick scored eight goals on 16 shots and added three assists and four ground balls for good measure. Wyrick’s efforts helped to propel the Aggies to a massive upset win 17-7 over the Horned Frogs. The Aggies wasted no time jumping ahead of Texas Christian leading 8-4 at halftime and cruising to the decisive 17-7 win. For his efforts Wyrick has been named the Warrior MCLA Division I Player of the Week.
Texas A&M head coach Travis Doak said, ““Ryan has consistently demonstrated what it means to be an elite competitor. He is one of the toughest and most dedicated players I have ever coached, missing only one practice all year. Through nine games, he is averaging 8.33 points per game with 58 goals and 17 assists. His 8 goal, 3 assist performance against a quality conference opponent like TCU is the result of years of dedication to the game, constant skill building, and a relentless competitive mindset. What stands out most is not just his production, but his daily approach and unwavering commitment to his teammates and the program. We are extremely proud of him. This recognition is well deserved.”
In recognition of this accomplishment Wyrick will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O head – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
