Boston College Honors the Red Bandana

CHESTNUTHILL, Mass - The Boston College men's lacrosse hosted its 11th annual Red Bandana 5K to honor the memory of 9/11 hero and former Eagles lacrosse player Welles Remy Crowther on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The proceeds from race went to the Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust, which was which was established to honor Welles’ memory through scholarship and organizational support to young people in their pursuit of excellence.
Crowther entered into lacrosse, Boston College and national lore after his actions on Sept. 11, 2001, which were emotionally outlined in an ESPN Outside the Lines documentary.
The Crowther family provided a pre-race welcome for the event, which began at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.
