MSU’s Fairey Earns D-II Honor
ATLANTA – After guiding Montana State to a 3-0 spring break trip to Colorado, featuring an upset of No. 20 Metro State, senior goalie Parker Fairey has earned the MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending March 20.
Fairey opened the week with nine saves in a 12-4 defeat of Regis, but made his big statement in the win over Metro State. Fairey turned away 20 Roadrunner shots as the Bobcats defeated the RMLC preseason favorite, 6-5 in overtime. It was Fairey’s first overtime win of his career.
The Morristown, N.J., native rounded out the week with 11 saves in 12-10 win over Fort Lewis.
For the week, Fairey posted a 67.8 save percentage along with a 6.33 goals against average, helping Montana State improve to 6-0 on the season.
“Parker has been standing on his head all year,” said Montana State coach Chris Kelley. “This being his last season, he has really stepped it up a notch. He was unbelievable in that Metro State game because it was basically in a blizzard, but he still came up huge.”
For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Fairey will receive a new Under Armour Command Head. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.UNDER ARMOUR HONOR ROLL
