RMLC Tourney Set For This Weekend
DENVER – The four best teams from both divisions of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC) will descend on the University of Utah in Salt Lake City this weekend for the conference semifinals and finals.
Semifinal action kicks off on Friday with a pair of Division II games. Metro State, ranked No. 18 in the country, squares off with Colorado Mines at 10 a.m. No. 16 Montana State puts its undefeated record on the line in the following D-II semi against Fort Lewis.
In one Division I semifinal, top-seeded Colorado faces Utah Valley. The Buffaloes torched the Wolverines in the regular season, 19-7, but UVU is a dangerous squad. On the other side of the bracket, old friends Brigham Young and Colorado State renew acquaintances. The Rams beat the Cougars, 10-6, in the regular season.
The semifinal winners in both divisions will meet on Saturday to determine who receives the automatic bid to the 2016 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour. The nationals will be held in Orange County, Calif., from May 9-14.
