ORANGE, Calif. -- After running the table for a perfect 22-0 record and winning their first MCLA national championship, members of the Chapman men's lacrosse team got their first glimpse of the ring they will be sporting for the effort.
The diamond encrusted bauble features the distinctive Chapman footprint and will be handed out in February at the annual alumni game where both current players and '16 graduates will receive their jewelry.
"There is only one trophy that represents the MCLA 2016 championship, but every teammate and coach gets a ring! We all have a piece of the history," said Chapman coach Dallas Hartley.
The ring pictured here is for Mike Pelly, the founder, former coach and long-time supporter of the Chapman program (and the MCLA).
After winning last year's title and Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) crown, the Panthers have been tabbed as the favorites to take the conference championship once again.
