B-Water's Lewis Shines
ATLANTA – After helping Bridgewater State pull off one of the biggest upsets of the young season, Bridgewater State sophomore long-stick midfielder Tom Lewis has earned the MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending Feb. 26.
Squaring off against No. 5 Dayton, Lewis had five ground balls, four caused turnovers matching up with the Flyers’ top middie while also chipping in with a goal and an assist.
In the weather-shortened tie with No. 9 Grove City, the North Reading, Mass., native added another three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
“At the very first day of practice it was apparent that he was going to break into the starting lineup at some point this season,” said Bridgewater State coach Pat Welsh. “We just didn’t expect it to be this early. His performance against a very good Dayton team in his first collegiate lacrosse game, as well as the Grove City contest, really shows how good Tom can be.”
For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Lewis will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
