IRVINE, Calif. -- After the seeds held for the first three sessions of the first round at the 2017 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, a couple of upsets popped up in the last quarter of games for the day.

The last two meetings between @asumenslacrosse and @csumenslax were one goal affairs and the Sun Devils and Rams made it a third. ASU downed CSU, 10-9. #mcla17 #tourneytime

With a dominant defensive effort and a opportunistic offense, @hokielax posted the biggest upset of the tournament with a 9-5 win over @calpolylacrosse. #mcla17 #tourneytime

A late rally by @chapmanlacrosse tied the game and then the Panthers struck in overtime to grab a 9-8 win over Utah in the first round. #mcla17 #tourneytime
