Colorado State Announces Staff
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- In partnership with the CSU Lacrosse Alumni Association, Colorado State men’s lacrosse is proud to introduce the coaching staff for the 2017-18 Rams.
A returning member of the 2017 coaching staff, Ryan MacDonald comes into the season extending his 12-year long history of involvement with the Rams as newly appointed head coach of the program. A life-long Ram with All-American accolades as a player, MacDonald brings a strong family culture to the Rams with the knowledge and first-hand experience about what it takes to win a national championship.
MacDonald is joined by returning defensive coordinator Patrick Sullivan, who served for the rams under Alex Smith for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Sullivan is a CSU lacrosse alumnus, anchoring back-to-back national championships for the rams as All-American defenseman in 2012-2013 -- a defense that gave up the lowest goals against average in the history of the MCLA tournament.
The final addition to the staff is Jake Flax, another CSU lacrosse alumni. Flax is a 2011 graduate who served as both team captain and team president in his days as a player. Before joining the CSU coaching staff, Flax, with his twin brother, Andy, headed up all operations for Steamboat lacrosse. Flax will look to use his creativity and experience at the top level to inject a breath of fresh air into the 2017-2018 Rams offense.
