ATLANTA – For the second straight week, Michigan State has bounded up three spots in the Under Armour MCLA Division I Weekly Coaches Poll.
The Spartans are now at No. 7 and less than 200 points behind top-ranked Grand Canyon.
The Lopes remain in the first chair with 13 first place votes, but the lead has narrowed. On the strength of nine first place votes, Utah has leapfrogged to No. 2 and sits just nine points behind Grand Canyon.
Chapman won a pair of ranked games over the weekend, but fell to No. 3. The Panthers still have four first place votes and are only 14 points back of the Utes and 23 behind the Lopes.
Brigham Young and Colorado round out the top five, giving the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC) three of the top five programs.
South Carolina continues its massive climb. After jumping into the Top 25 last week at No. 15, the Gamecocks have bounded up to No. 11 with its 7-0 record.
Arizona left the Top 25 this week, making way for Clemson’s first appearance of the season.
