Central Conn. Leads PCLL-II Awards
BOSTON – Central Connecticut State was well-represented when the Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League (PCLL) announced its Division II all-conference honorees and individual award winners.
The Blue Devils placed five players on the first team, including freshman close defender Tyler Grainger, who was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year.
Fellow freshman Jared Pearson, an attackman for CCSU, was named the Rookie of the Year.
CCSU’s Brendan Frobel was named the conference’s Coach of the Year after guiding the Devils to the automatic qualifier for the 2018 MCLA National Championship powered by Under Armour.
New Haven sophomore attackman Evan Pesco was named the Offensive Player of the Year. He was one of three Chargers to earn first team all-conference kudos.
Bridgewater State also placed five players on the first team.
