TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona men's lacrosse team will take on a competitive 14-game schedule, highlighted by a neutral site contest against defending national champion Michigan State in San Diego on March 6.

Joining the Spartans on the non-conference portion of the scheule is Santa Clara, USC, Alabama, Claremont, Sierra Nevada and Oklahoma. Arizona will also face a pair of non-conference teams at the Pac-12 Shootout, with the opponents yet to be determined.

The Wildcats will also have to tangle with the SLC South again, featuring Grand Canyon, Arizona State, San Diego State and UNLV.

"We are excited about the competitive schedule we have ahead of us," said Arizona coach Matt Blamey. "Playing in the SLC, we know that we are going to have to fight every year for a ticket to the postseason. We have worked hard to construct a schedule that will challenge us and we are eager to put our men to the test. We are confident that our team will be battle-tested once we hit our conference slate."

Arizona will start the season with a scrimmage against Northern Arizona on Jan. 26 followed by the season-opener against Santa Clara on Feb. 2.
