PNCLL-I Poll Has Oregon on Top
SEATTLE – After capturing the conference championship the last two seasons, Oregon has been tabbed as the pick to once again take down the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League (PNCLL) in 2019, according to the preseason coaches poll.
The Ducks (7-7) captured just two of the scattered first-place votes, but still managed to clear the rest of the six-team league to take favorite status.
Oregon was the third seed in last year’s PNCLL tournament, but rallied to grab the automatic qualifier to the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, where the Ducks faced eventual national champion Michigan State in the first round.
Oregon enters the season with a new head coach, as Charlie Jackson replaces Markus McCaine.
Washington (7-6) also captured two first-place votes, tying them for second with Simon Fraser (9-3) despite the Clansmen being awarded no top votes.
Both No. 4 Oregon State (5-6) and No. 5 Boise State (3-6) grabbed a first-place vote. Idaho (5-4) rounded out the six-team league.
