ATLANTA – For the second time this season, South Carolina senior netminder Colin Hains has earned Pearl’s Goalie of the Week honors, this time for the period ending March 17.

In a tough road game against a desperate UC Santa Barbara outfit, the Bethesda, Md., product made 14 saves in an 8-6 grinder (70.0 sv%).

Later in the Gamecocks spring break trip to SoCal, Hains went up against a potent Brigham Young squad and held the Cougars to just three goals while making 19 saves (86.4 sv%) in an 8-3 victory.

“I’m really proud of how Colin bounced back to lead us on the road following a tough loss [to Chapman],” said South Carolina coach James Harkey. “His game play and vocal leadership helped us to two of our best defensive days on the year.”

For his efforts in earning the Pearl’s Performance of the Week, Hains will receive a prize package from Guardian Pearl, a ball that lasts longer than the rest and never greases. Guardian Pearl is the proud partner of the MCLA.
