UNF, Kennesaw Lead SELC-II Bracket
ATLANTA – The field for the 2019 SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) Division II tournament has been set and North Florida and Kennesaw State have earned the top seeds in the South and North subdivisions, respectively.
The tournament starts on Friday, April 26 in the Johns Creek, Ga. area with a pair of first round games.
2019 SELC DIVISION II TOURNAMENT BRACKET
College of Charleston (5-4, 4-2 SELC), the third seed out of the South, will grapple with UNC-Charlotte (8-4, 4-1), the second seed out of the North. The winner will draw North Florida (10-1, 5-0) in the semifinals.
On the other half of the draw, North third seed Wake Forest (5-3, 2-2) tangles with South second seed Florida Gulf Coast (5-5, 5-1). Awaiting the winner in the semifinals will be Kennesaw State (9-2, 3-0).
The semifinal winners will meet on Sunday, April 28, with the victor earning an automatic qualifying berth to the 2019 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which will be held in Salt Lake City from May 6-11.
“The SELC Division II tournament gets deeper and deeper with every passing year,” said SELC director Mike Dubbelde. “Five of the six teams are ranked in the top 25, so this year’s tourney will be very interesting.”
Admission to the 2019 SELC Tournament, which is sponsored by the Johns Creek Visitors Bureau, is $10 for an adult day pass and $5 for students. Adult weekend passes can be purchased for $20 and students are $10. Children 9 and under are free as are students up to 18 wearing a lacrosse jersey.
