Champs Release 2020 Schedule
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The South Carolina men's lacrosse team is looking to become the first team to post back-to-back Division I national championships since 2013 and the Gamecocks have announced the schedule they hope will lead to a repeat.
South Carolina will play a 17-game regular season featuring nine teams ranked in the final Top 25 coaches poll and seven that participated at the 2019 MCLA National Championships sponsored by New Balance.
The season kicks off with a road trip to Baton Rouge to face Texas A&M and defending LSA champion LSU on Feb. 1-2 and wraps up with the annual in-state rivalry game at home against Clemson on April 10.
"We are excited to get back out on the field to compete," said South Carolina coach James Harkey. "I'm thrilled about the group of guys we have this year. Although we'll miss the guys that have graduated and moved on, we have a chance to be an even better group in 2020 with the strong contingent remaining and very promising newcomers all over the field.
"I'm confident that this year's seniors will maintain the workmanlike approach to practice that has led to our success on the field over the last two seasons."
