SEATTLE -- The Washington men's lacrosse team has released its schedule for the 2020 campaign that they hope will produce its second nationals berth in program history.

The Huskies will play an 11-game regular season schedule featuring a host of nationally-ranked opponents along with a PNCLL slate highlighted by a regular-season finale against defending conference champion Oregon.

“We’re always looking to put together the most competitive schedule we can for each season," said Washington coach Jack Cerchiara. "With a strong road schedule, we think this is one of our strongest schedules. We will play five teams that finished in the end of season Top 25 poll. After capping a great fall ball, bringing 16 new players into the fold with our 15 returners, we’re excited to get back to work in January on our 2020 campaign.”

“I’m very excited about this upcoming season I think capping off the fall we had a lot of guys showing large amounts of growth and adding these talented new guys to our veteran leadership is going to make this team very competitive," said junior midfielder Garrett Sorenson.

"We have a great opportunity to play a very strong schedule that will allow us to make a deep national championship run. Our team has put in a lot of work this offseason and it has shown throughout the fall. The chance to play 5 top 25 opponents this season is something everyone is really fired up about this year.”

Senior goal Christopher Moreno said: "Starting off in fall ball, we looked strong with our returning players and we were excited to see what the new class of freshmen were going to bring to our game. They brought strength and numbers and, with a larger roster size than previous years, our team was deep and competitive.

"I'm looking forward at our schedule. I am excited to compete again with the likes of Stanford, BYU and Arizona. As for the PNCLL, the competition is always strong but with a good number of seasoned upperclassmen and our very promising freshman class, I expect a similar record as last year.”
