A&M’s Kroslowitz is PEARL Goalie of Week
ATLANTA – After posting solid performances against a pair of ranked opponents, Texas A&M freshman netminder Jason Kroslowitz has earned MCLA Division I PEARL Goalie of the Week honors for the period ending Feb. 2.
Kroslowitz and the Aggies started the week on Friday night in Baton Rouge against No. 25 LSU. The Woodlands, Texas, product made 15 saves, allowing A&M to post the 9-8 upset victory.
On Saturday, the Aggies squared off with defending national champion and No. 1-ranked South Carolina. The Gamecocks pulled out the 15-10 victory, but Kroslowitz made 16 saves to keep A&M in the hunt.
For the week, Kroslowitz finished with 31 saves and 23 goals against for a 57.4 save percentage against two of the top teams in the country.
“Jason’s play during the start of the season has been nothing short of spectacular,” said Texas A&M coach Tony Scazzero. “In each of our games, he has held our opponent’s shooters at bay during a part of the game and allowed our offense to put up points either to maintain our lead or allowing the Aggie offense to close the gap.
“He has that ability to make the key save when the game is close that gives his team the opportunity for the offense to do its job at the other end. He has great anticipation where the shot is coming from and is an outstanding outlet passer off the save.
“Jason seems to get stronger as the game progresses and is a student of the game, always working to get better in practice and quarterbacks the defense using strong on field verbal communications. Jason has gained both the respect and admiration of his teammates.”
For his efforts in earning the PEARL Goalie of the Week, Kroslowitz will receive a prize package from Guardian Pearl, a ball that lasts longer than the rest and never greases. Guardian Pearl is the proud partner of the MCLA.
