Tourney Details: SLC
SAN DIEGO – The Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) will host its 2020 semifinals and finals in both divisions on West Campus of the Arizona State University from April 24-26.
The champions in each division will receive an automatic qualifying bid to the 2020 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be in Salt Lake City from May 4-9.
Unlike years past, the SLC Division I tournament will feature just the top four teams, which will meet on Friday, April 24 at the ASU West Campus. The finals will take place on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Division II will remain a six-team format with the first round taking place on campus sites on Saturday, April 18. Four teams will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, April 25 with the finals on Sunday at 11 a.m.
“Our Coaches agreed that the Division I bracket would feature the top four teams at the end of the regular season moving right to the semifinals,” said SLC director Matt Holman. “It makes for an interesting in-season twist, forcing all eight to play each other for the first time. Division II’s format remains the same, but who’ll come out on top remains a mystery with so much parity this year. It’s going to be a great weekend in Phoenix.”
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students (ages 6-18) and children under 5 are free. All semifinal and final contests will be streamed live via the OfficialMCLA YouTube channel and Lax Sports Network.
Discounted hotel rates for the tournament are available through Eventure Travel and can be found HERE.
